You simply apply the ear tag and then remove the small container that is attached. A small amount of tissue will have been punched and automatically sealed in the container.

There is space on the ear tag and on the sample submission container to write your own flock number. We can then report your results to you using your flock number rather than the Gene Check assigned sample number.

These tags can be used as permanent ear tags and simply stored on your farm for possible future testing. If you use the tags as lamb tags, you need only send samples after you decide which animals you intend to keep or sell for breeding.

Because the small portion of the ear tag and the reverse side of the sampling container are permanently labeled with small identical Gene Check numbers, all samples can be quickly, easily and accurately traced back to the animal.
